This week, students should continue practicing their typing skills on the website TypingClub. Students have been practicing in class. Please practice your typing skills at least twice a week. Remember to type by sitting with proper posture and with both hands on the home-row keys. I will be checking your progress weekly.
All students must go on Spelling City at least twice a week to practice the Spelling and Vocabulary words.
Parents: Please sign and return all quizzes/assessments that are sent home.
Reading
The following topics will be covered in Reading this week:
**READING LOG due Monday, 4/13! If you read during Spring Break, you will receive Extra Credit!**
-Focusing on the Historical Fiction genre.
-Continuing with our class read aloud, The Fighting Ground, by Avi. I am so HAPPY to see that the students are enjoying this book so much :)
-Writing about a character's traits and feelings.
-Using context clues to figure out unknown words.
-Visualizing what i happening in the text.
*Remember to read at home, at least 4 nights a week, and record your reading on your Reading Log. Please try to read some Nonfiction texts at home :)
Writing
The following topics will be covered in Writing this week as we continue with our unit on Informational Writing:
-Creating Nonfiction text features for our Informational Text Google Presentations (Table of Contents, Glossary, Captions, etc.).
-Continuing with our Informational Text Google Presentations.
-Informational Text Google Presentations must be done by Thursday, 4/2/15.
Word Study
The following topics will be covered in Word Study this week:
-List 18 Spelling & Vocab (Assessment will be on Wednesday, 4/1.).
*Don't forget to practice your words on Spelling City!
Science
