- Students should continue practicing their typing skills on the website TypingClub. Students have been practicing in class. Please practice your typing skills at least twice a week. Remember to type by sitting with proper posture and with both hands on the home-row keys. I will be checking your progress weekly.
- Parents: Please sign and return all quizzes & assessments that are sent home.
Reading
The following topics will be covered in Reading this week:
-Using the R.A.C.E. strategy to answer open-ended questions about Informational Text.
-Reading Informational Text charts.
-Reading fairytales from different points of view. Ex. Believe Me, Goldilocks Rocks! The Story of the Three Bears, as Told by Baby Bear.
*Remember to read at home, at least 5 nights a week, and record your reading on your Reading Log. Please try to read some Informational texts.
Writing
The following topics will be covered in Writing this week:
-Nonfiction Text Structures (Description, Chronological Order, Compare/Contrast, Problem/Solution, Cause/Effect).
-Using the text structures, Cause + Effect, Problem + Solution, and Compare + Contrast, to write about our Informational Topics.
-Determining subheadings for our Text Structure slides.
-Creating a glossary for our Informational Google Presentation.
Word Study
The following topics will be covered in Word Study this week:
-Unit 13 Vocabulary - Assessment is on Friday, 4/6/17.
-Conjunctions (coordinating + subordinating).
-Interjections.
Science
The following topics will be covered in Science this week:
-Introduction to Elements.
-Looking at The Periodic Table of Elements.
-Determining the # of Protons, Electrons, and Neutrons that are in an element.
